A new hand-held blue light-therapy gadget is the latest weapon of choice for A – list celebrities Rihanna, Geri Halliwell and Katherine Jenkins to control their acne and keep their skin clear.
The new Tria Skin Perfecting Blue Light device uses blue light therapy and claims to eliminate acne-causing bacteria in the skin, leaving it looking clearer and smoother.
The gadget needs to be used daily for 3-5 minutes twice a day for several weeks before results are noticed.
Clinical studies carried out by the company that makes the device claim that 94% of participants who used the Tria Blue Light twice a day noted fewer acne breakouts after two weeks while 93% had a smoother complexion after four weeks.
The handheld gadget means it can used at home or taken on work trips or holidays.
The hand-held device costs in the region of £230.
