Most post-operative lesions tend to leave a significant scar no matter how good the surgeon is or how quickly the person heals. However a new study carried out by dermatologist Zoe Diana Draelos, and published in the June (2008) edition of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, found that in a study on 60 people with post-operative scars of more than 8mm in diameter, a statistically significant percentage of the test subjects showed improvements in scar softness, redness and texture after ten weeks of using the onion gel compared to the control group.
