Caviar, which is made from fish eggs, does have a history of being an effective treatment for shiny hair as it contains high levels of omega-3essential fatty acids that vital for the production of collagen and keratin, the two proteins responsible for making hair shiny and strong.

But at £200 a treatment and with the ingredient having to be flown in fresh from foreign countries, it’s not something most of us on a normal budget could stretch to even in the name of beauty. However other more modestly priced fish such as herring, mackerel and salmon are also packed with omega 3 fatty acids, so if you can bare the smell you could achieve shinier hair at a fraction of the price.

Fishy!
